Brighton have completed the signing of Leeds United centre-back Pascal Struijk for an undisclosed fee understood to be in the region of £20 million, with the Dutch defender committing to a five-year contract at the Amex.

Struijk, 26, had been under contract at Elland Road through the end of the 2026-27 season before the Seagulls moved to secure his services this summer. He arrives on the south coast having made 196 appearances for Leeds United in total, including 34 in the Premier League during the most recent campaign.

The defender first arrived in West Yorkshire when he joined Leeds' under-23s from Ajax in January 2018, going on to establish himself as a key figure at the club and even captaining the side on occasion last season.

Hurzeler excited by new arrival

Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler made clear his enthusiasm for the acquisition, highlighting Struijk's blend of defensive reliability and technical quality as a strong fit for the club's playing style.
