Brighton Reject Liverpool's £60m Bid for Yankuba Minteh

Brighton & Hove Albion have turned down a second Liverpool bid for winger Yankuba Minteh, this time worth £60 million, after the Merseyside club's opening offer of £50 million was also rebuffed.
Sky Sports News understands that neither proposal has come close to matching Brighton's asking price for the 22-year-old, who remains unavailable through injury and is not expected to return until October.
Wide reinforcements a Liverpool priority
Strengthening in wide-forward positions has been Liverpool's central aim throughout the summer transfer window. The club have already added Victor Munoz from Osasuna, and Minteh is among several options they are examining as they push to add more width.
Liverpool are also pursuing Bradley Barcola at Paris Saint-Germain and have maintained contact with the European champions over a potential deal. However, PSG's £145 million valuation remains a significant obstacle, with Liverpool unwilling to stretch to that figure at this stage.
Brighton also missing Mitoma
Brighton's injury concerns extend beyond Minteh. Kaoru Mitoma has been sidelined since May with a hamstring injury, leaving the south-coast club short of wide options heading into the new season.
Elsewhere, Brighton are in advanced discussions with Manchester United over the sale of Carlos Baleba, with a deal understood to be worth in excess of £60 million and an agreement reported to be close.
