Hugo Broos has made no secret of his frustration after South Africa's senior national side, Bafana Bafana, could only manage a 1-1 draw against Jamaica in a pre-tournament friendly played at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, Mexico, on Saturday.

Lyle Foster gave Bafana the lead before Dwayne Atkinson levelled for Jamaica — a result Broos described as deeply disappointing ahead of the team's opening FIFA World Cup 2026 fixture against Mexico.

A performance below expectations
