Dominic Calvert-Lewin snatched a late equaliser to give Leeds United a 1-1 draw with Brentford at Elland Road on Sunday, leaving both clubs on four points from two Premier League games.

Brentford arrived in West Yorkshire full of confidence following their thrashing of Tottenham the previous weekend, and they backed that form up emphatically in the first half. Kevin Schade put the visitors ahead shortly before the break, guiding Keane Lewis-Potter's low cross into the net with the outside of his right boot in a finish that was as clever as it was composed.

Brentford dominate the first half

Keith Andrews' side were commanding throughout the opening 45 minutes, imposing their pace and aggression on the match and effectively silencing the Elland Road crowd. New signing Mamadou Sangare was again outstanding in midfield, reinforcing the impression he has made early in the campaign.

Leeds head coach Daniel Farke refused to accept defeat and made bold changes at the interval — switching to a back four and introducing two substitutes — a reshuffle that immediately unsettled Brentford's rhythm even as the visitors continued to threaten, ultimately finishing the game with 22 shots to the hosts' 12.

Calvert-Lewin rescues the point

The introduction of Lukas Nmecha proved to be the decisive moment in the second half. The striker's low drive across the Brentford penalty area found Calvert-Lewin arriving at the far post, and he turned it in from close range to level matters.

The result keeps both sides level on four points as the Premier League season continues to take shape.
