Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has raised doubts about Mohamed Salah's decision to join Turkish side Trabzonspor, arguing that the Egyptian forward remains talented enough to compete at a far higher level in European football.

Salah departed Liverpool at the end of last season after nine years on Merseyside, leaving the club with 257 goals to his name. His choice of destination, however, has not sat well with his former club's most prominent voice.

Carragher's case for Serie A

Speaking on Football Ramble, Carragher insisted that Salah should have held out for a move to one of Italy's elite clubs rather than accepting a financially attractive offer from Trabzonspor.
