Carrick Pushes Back on Neville's 'Pathetic' Verdict as Manchester United Seek Answers

1 hour ago·1 min

A deflected Matheus Cunha strike in the 89th minute rescued a 1-1 draw for Manchester United at Fulham on Saturday, but the point did little to paper over the cracks at a club mired in uncertainty on and off the pitch.

The result left United with five points from five Premier League games — 12th in the table and already 10 points adrift of leaders Manchester City, who were beaten in the Manchester derby by a team reduced to 10 men.

Neville's brutal assessment

Before Cunha's equaliser arrived, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville delivered a verdict that cut through the noise. After Lisandro Martinez's own goal handed Fulham the lead just past the hour mark, Neville — a former United captain — described the preceding 15 minutes as the worst he had witnessed in a lifetime of watching the club.
