Celtic Close in on Qarabag Forward Camilo Durán as Medical Looms

Celtic are on the verge of completing their first summer signing, with manager Martin O'Neill confirming that Qarabag forward Camilo Durán is set to undergo a medical.
The 24-year-old Colombian attracted widespread attention after scoring five goals in 10 UEFA Champions League appearances for the Azerbaijan Premier League runners-up. He joined Qarabag from Portuguese second-tier club Portimonense, having previously risen through the lower levels of Portuguese football with Lusitânia and Estrela Amadora before helping Lusitânia earn promotion to Liga 3.
Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the club's first pre-season friendly against Shelbourne in Dublin, O'Neill said: "We've got the young lad Duran — he is doing a medical as we speak — if he's not doing it tonight, he'll be doing it tomorrow morning."
Durán arrives for an undisclosed fee following a productive spell at Qarabag, where he made 48 appearances — 33 of them starts — netting 15 goals and contributing 10 assists last season.
Squad strengthening on O'Neill's agenda
The signing will come as a relief to sections of the Celtic support who had grown restless over a quiet summer transfer window, particularly as title rivals Heart of Midlothian have brought in 10 players and Rangers have added five.
O'Neill moved to reassure fans that further additions are forthcoming. "We've a number of players we're looking at," he said. "We have offers in for players at the same time."
"Hopefully in the not too distant future, in the next couple of weeks, we will have some really decent players at the football club to add to the decent players we already have," O'Neill added. "We are absolutely trying to improve the squad and that will be necessary."
