Celtic Hold Firm on Chaiwa Fee as Scottish Transfer Window Heats Up

Celtic are keen to sign Hibernian midfielder Miguel Chaiwa but are unwilling to match the Edinburgh club's reported £7 million valuation of the 22-year-old Zambia international. The Glasgow club would reportedly consider a bid of around £5 million — falling well short of what Hibs are demanding, according to Football Insider.

Celtic's transfer business does not stop there. The club are expected to return with a fresh offer for Sandefjord centre-back Zinedin Smajlovic after an initial bid of £3.5 million for the Bosnia-Herzegovina international was turned down, Football Insider reports.

Iheanacho option expires

On the other side of the ledger, Celtic's option to extend striker Kelechi Iheanacho's contract for a further season has lapsed. The Scottish Sun reports that Iheanacho is currently training independently in Nigeria, leaving his future very much up in the air.
