Celtic Open to Kenny Offers as Rues Set for Hearts Medical

2 hours ago·2 min

Celtic are prepared to entertain offers for striker Johnny Kenny this summer, with English Championship clubs Millwall and Bolton Wanderers among those showing interest in the forward.

Separately, Dutch left-sided player Mitchel Bakker, 26, is expected to depart Atalanta when the transfer window opens, and Celtic are one of several sides keeping close tabs on the versatile defender's situation.

Meanwhile, Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has pushed back on suggestions that he sought transfer guarantees before accepting the permanent role at the club, insisting no such assurances were requested.

Rangers face budget strain

Brazilian striker Danilo, who moved to Rangers in 2023 for a reported £6 million, is understood to be on the brink of a return to his home country, with Botafogo the likely destination.

Rangers are also unlikely to pursue Hearts forward Claudio Braga, 26, this summer, with financial constraints making a move difficult to execute.

Hearts activity intensifies

Beveren goalkeeper Beau Reus has flown to Scotland to undergo a medical ahead of a potential transfer to Hearts, signalling one of the more concrete moves in the current window.

Hearts manager Wouter Vrancken has spoken on further squad matters, stating that securing Laurent Mendy, 29, from Forest Green Rovers is a decision for the Tynecastle club to manage, while goalkeeper Liam McFarlane, 21, is expected to head out on loan for another spell.

Hearts midfielder Macaulay Tait, 20, is poised to move to fellow Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone.

Elsewhere in Scottish football

Motherwell winger Elijah Just has attracted enquiries from clubs across multiple countries, according to his agent Gustaf Grauers, suggesting considerable interest in the 26-year-old.

Aberdeen are edging closer to signing German goalkeeper Marius Muller, 33, who is set to leave Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg at the end of his contract.
