Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has shut down speculation linking Julián Álvarez to Barcelona, declaring in no uncertain terms that the Argentine striker will not be leaving the club.

Barcelona had identified Álvarez as their leading target to eventually replace Robert Lewandowski, but Atlético have consistently resisted their advances. The Spanish capital club reportedly turned down an offer of more than €150 million, standing firm on their valuation of the player.

Cerezo responded directly to comments made by Barcelona president Joan Laporta, making his position clear with pointed remarks.
