Okoye Commits to Udinese Future Despite Juventus Links
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has moved to silence transfer rumours, confirming he has no intention of leaving Udinese this summer despite reported interest from Juventus.
The 26-year-old enjoyed another standout season for the Zebras, making 30 Serie A appearances and keeping 10 clean sheets — a run of form that drew attention from one of Italy's most storied clubs.
Okoye's own words
Speaking to Transfermarkt, Okoye was unambiguous about his priorities. "Of course, I still have goals in my career, but currently my head is complete at Udinese. I enjoy it without thinking too much about the future," he said.
He acknowledged that football can shift at any moment, but made clear his current focus is entirely on Udinese. "In football things can change quickly, and if it happens, I know that the club is well positioned and can still earn a nice replacement. But until then, I am 100 per cent Udinese professional."
Contract situation and the road ahead
Okoye still has two years remaining on his deal with Udinese, where manager Kosta Runjaic continues to rely on him as first-choice keeper. The Nigeria international joined the club in 2023 from Watford, where he had spent time in the Sky Bet Championship.
Bournemouth have also been linked with a move for the shot-stopper, though Okoye's comments suggest he is not entertaining any departure at this stage.
Udinese open their 2026/27 season with a Coppa Italia tie against Serie B outfit Padova on August 15, and Okoye will be expected to be between the sticks as the campaign gets underway.
