Nigerian defender Christian Akpan has committed his future to KRC Genk, signing a new four-year contract that will keep him at the Cegeka Arena until 2030.
The 21-year-old arrived at the Belgian Pro League club in 2023 and worked his way up through the youth system before earning a place in the senior squad. He has since made 59 appearances across all competitions for the club, nicknamed the Smurfs.
Akpan announced himself to the first team with a memorable debut against Gent last season, producing a performance that earned him the Man of the Match award.

KRC Genk Head of Football Dimitri de Condé welcomed the deal, highlighting Akpan's tactical value to the squad.
