Chelsea striker Liam Delap has been stripped of the number nine shirt at Stamford Bridge, with the squad number handed instead to fellow forward Joao Pedro. Delap is among several players now training apart from Xabi Alonso's main group at the club's Cobham training facility.
A group of around 12 players — a number that changes from day to day — are working in a secondary training group adjacent to the first team. Among them are forwards Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk, as well as defenders Tosin Adarabioyo and Axel Disasi. Notably, new signings Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson are also part of the arrangement.
