Rashford Thanks Carragher for Podcast Plea to Drop His Name

Marcus Rashford has responded to a viral clip from the Stick to Football podcast, thanking Jamie Carragher for pushing back when Gary Neville attempted to steer the conversation toward the Manchester United forward — yet again.

In the clip, Carragher expressed clear exasperation at the recurring topic. "Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford?" he said. "Stop it. Oh my God. It's like the Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Rashford… like a little part of the podcast. The Trent part or the Rashford part."

Rashford responded on X, writing: "Thanks, Jamie. It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day."

Rashford's future at Old Trafford

The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Barcelona, where he collected a La Liga title, but he now appears set to remain at Manchester United for the coming campaign.

His most recent competitive outing for the club came in December 2024, under former manager Ruben Amorim. With United's Premier League season opener against Hull approaching on Saturday, Rashford could make his return to competitive action sooner than many expected.

Defender Harry Maguire offered a warm endorsement of his teammate following United's 4-2 friendly defeat to AC Milan on Saturday. Maguire said he hoped Rashford would stay at Old Trafford, describing him as a "big asset" and a "huge threat" for the club.

Whether Rashford plays a central role in Amorim's plans this season remains to be seen, but his message on social media suggests he is focused on letting his football do the talking.
