Enyimba technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch has expressed confidence ahead of his side's Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday three clash against Doma United at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe on Saturday.

The People's Elephant head into the fixture without a single point from two outings, following a defeat to Niger Tornadoes in their opening league game of the season. Deutsch, however, believes Saturday's encounter marks a turning point.

"I think that this game tomorrow will show a sign, a new face of Enyimba. For tomorrow's game, we are calm for the game, the pitch will show this reality," Deutsch told the club's media.

Praise for hospitality, frustration at home

The coach spoke warmly of the reception his squad received in Gombe, noting that their preparations had been largely undisturbed. "We got good accommodation, good hospitality in Gombe, there are no distractions," he said.

However, Deutsch made clear that the situation back home is a different matter entirely. Reports circulating in the press and on social media have drawn his ire, and he warned that such noise carries real consequences for his players.

"If you see everything happening in the papers and on the internet, we can't imagine the kind of power some people want," he said. "There are people with selfish interests around the team, but we are calm."

Chairman's personal commitment draws praise

Amid the turbulence, Deutsch singled out the club chairman for recognition, crediting him with providing personal and financial support to the squad—including players dealing with personal tragedies.

"But thank God the chairman is doing his best. He adds his own resources to make sure the players are well fed. He shows personal interest; those who lost their parents, he tries to boost their morale that he would take care of all those things. This is the kind of things we need, not selfish interests."

A rallying call to Enyimba fans

Deutsch directed a pointed message toward supporters in Abia State, urging them to stand as a bulwark against those he believes are undermining the club's progress.

"I want Abians and Enyimba fans to stand up against those who want to distract the team because Enyimba is a very big team. I'm talking like this because I'm not happy."

The coach also invoked the club's distinguished continental record—Enyimba are double CAF Champions League champions—as a reminder of what discipline and unity can produce.

"You cannot succeed without discipline," Deutsch stressed, before refocusing attention on the immediate task. "For now, we concentrate on tomorrow's game."
