Niger Tornadoes technical adviser Kabiru Dogo has pledged to address his side's chronic finishing woes after the Ikon Allah Boys were held to a goalless draw by Warri Wolves in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday five encounter at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna on Wednesday.

A familiar frustration in front of goal

Niger Tornadoes dominated large spells of the match and fashioned several clear chances, but a lack of cutting edge meant they were unable to break the deadlock against Warri Wolves. It is a pattern that has come to define the club's recent form.

Dogo pointed out that the team's early-season productivity had masked a deeper issue. "We scored four goals in our first two opening matches against Enyimba and Kano Pillars, which made us believe we wouldn't have any goal-scoring challenges," he told the club's media. "But now, we have managed to score just once in our last three games, which is not encouraging."

The technical adviser was direct about the path forward. "Since we have identified the challenge, we will work collectively as a team to address the goal-scoring problem," Dogo said.

Dogo calls for calm in the stands

With supporters growing restless, Dogo appealed for patience, emphasising that the season is still in its infancy. "We understand the frustration of our supporters, but we equally call on them to exercise a little more patience with the team so as not to subject the young players to too much pressure," he said.

He also reminded fans that 33 matches remain in the 38-game campaign. "In my opinion, there is still room for improvement, and it is our responsibility as a team to work towards achieving the desired results," the coach added.

The goalless draw leaves Niger Tornadoes with five points from five NPFL matches. They travel to Lafia next to face North-Central neighbours Nasarawa United in matchday six, a fixture that will provide an early test of whether Dogo's words can be translated into goals.
