Egypt manager Hossam Hassan has declared his squad ready to take on any opponent in the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup 2026, following the Pharaohs' safe passage through Group G.
Egypt sealed their place in the Round of 32 after a gripping 1-1 draw against IR Iran on Saturday. The Pharaohs broke the deadlock early when Mahmoud Saber tapped home from close range, after Alireza Beiranvand failed to hold Mohamed Salah's deflected effort.
Goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir then produced a ninth-minute penalty save to deny Mehdi Taremi, keeping Egypt ahead. Ramin Rezaeian levelled for IR Iran five minutes later, and the match ended all square.
Hassan's pride in an unbeaten campaign
Egypt finished second in Group G behind Belgium and will face Australia in the Round of 32. Hassan spoke with evident satisfaction after his side navigated the group stage without a single defeat.
