El-Kanemi Warriors have booked their place in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, advancing on aggregate despite a 1-0 defeat to UDIB in the second leg played in Bissau on Sunday.

The Maiduguri club had built a sufficient cushion with a commanding 3-0 first-leg victory at home, and that margin proved more than enough — Warriors progress 3-1 on aggregate to the next stage.

Raja Casablanca await

El-Kanemi now face their sternest challenge yet: Moroccan heavyweights Raja Casablanca stand between them and a place in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The first leg of that tie is scheduled to be played at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne between October 16 and 18, with El-Kanemi hosting the opening fixture on Nigerian soil.

Raja will then welcome Warriors to Casablanca for the return leg between October 23 and 25.

Whoever prevails over the two legs earns a coveted spot in the group stage — and all the prize money and continental prestige that comes with it.
