Nottingham Forest have confirmed the sale of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City in a deal worth £116 million, making the 23-year-old midfielder the most expensive British player of all time.
The transfer eclipses Declan Rice's previous record of £105 million, which Arsenal paid West Ham United in 2023. According to ESPN, the agreement contains no add-ons or bonus clauses — the full £116 million is fixed.
Medical cleared at World Cup base
Anderson passed his medical at England's FIFA World Cup 2026 training facility in Kansas City. The formalities of the move will be finalised once he returns from the tournament.
