Nigeria Premier Football League chief operating officer Davidson Owumi says the NPFL's landmark sponsorship deal with EuroMatch will generate fresh revenue streams and draw new commercial partners to Nigerian top-flight football.
The NPFL officially unveiled EuroMatch as its title sponsor at a ceremony in Abuja on Wednesday, with Nigeria Football Federation president Shehu Gusau, NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye, former sports minister Sunday Dare, and EuroMatch Nigeria representatives among those in attendance.
The competition will now carry the name EuroMatch NPFL, marking a new chapter in the league's commercial evolution.
A $7.5 million boost over three years
The sponsorship is valued at $7.5 million across three years — an annual contribution of $2.5 million. Of that yearly sum, 60 percent will flow directly to the 20 clubs competing in the league, giving each club additional resources to improve player welfare, operations, and overall competitiveness.
Owumi did not understate the significance of stable funding.
