Ivory Coast head coach Emerse Faé has made clear that his side are travelling to Toronto with one mission: defeat Germany and secure six points from their opening two FIFA World Cup 2026 Group E fixtures.
The Elephants arrived at this contest on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ecuador, while their opponents had hammered Curacao 7-1 in an emphatic opening-round statement.
Speaking ahead of the match at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, Faé was unequivocal about his team's ambitions — refusing to be overawed by Germany's reputation as four-time world champions.
