Nigerian winger Femi Azeez has earned a place in the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Championship Team of the Year, capping a standout 2025/26 season with Millwall.

The 24-year-old delivered 11 goals and eight assists across 37 Championship appearances, making him one of the division's most influential attacking players throughout the campaign.

Millwall's play-off heartbreak

Azeez was central to Millwall's promotion push, as manager Alex Neil guided the Lions to the Championship play-offs. Their hopes of reaching the Premier League were extinguished, however, when Hull City eliminated them at the semi-final stage.

Azeez was not the only Millwall player to receive recognition — his teammate Tristan Crama was also included in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

A debut to remember for Nigeria

His form at club level translated directly into an international call-up. The former Reading forward made a memorable entrance on the Super Eagles stage, netting twice against Jamaica in May to mark his Nigeria debut in emphatic style.

The accolade from the PFA adds further weight to what has been a breakthrough year for Azeez, establishing him as one of Nigerian football's most exciting emerging talents.
