Nigeria under-20 international Kparobo Arierhi has completed a loan move to Norwegian second-tier side Sogndal, joining on a temporary basis until the end of the current season. The 19-year-old departs parent club Lillestrøm for the switch.

Arierhi expressed enthusiasm about his new surroundings, telling Sogndal's official website: "I feel like this will be a good place for me. After looking around here, Sogndal seems to be a good place to develop, play and thrive. People are very nice here. This is going to be very good."

Sogndal's recruitment rationale

Håvard Flo, who handles player recruitment at Sogndal, outlined why the club moved for the Flying Eagles striker. The move comes after Sogndal sold both Oliver Hintsa to Dinamo București and Sebastian Pedersen to Orlando Pirates in the same transfer window.

"Kparobo is a young and exciting player. He is a fast back-up striker and will complement the others we have in the squad. Now we are looking forward to starting the autumn season together," Flo said.

Flo added that the departures made reinforcing the attack a priority: "After the sale, the need arose to bring in a replacement who can add speed and a different type of skills than what we have before. We are very grateful that we were able to come to this solution with Lillestrøm, as the interest in Arierhi was great."

A striker on the rise

Arierhi spent last season on loan at Mjøndalen, where he contributed four goals. He arrived at Lillestrøm in 2024 from Nigeria's Beyond Limits Academy and has since registered two goals in 11 appearances for the Norwegian top-flight club.

The loan deal gives Arierhi the chance to build on that record with regular minutes at Sogndal as the Norwegian football season enters its second half.
