Fulham have confirmed the appointment of Alvaro Arbeloa as their new head coach, handing the 43-year-old a three-year contract at Craven Cottage.

Arbeloa steps in as Marco Silva's successor after the Portuguese manager departed to take charge of Benfica when his Fulham contract expired. The Spaniard had himself been available since leaving Real Madrid in May, where he was replaced by Jose Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabeu.
