Fulham have tabled an improved €25 million bid for Trabzonspor centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu, according to Turkish outlet Taka61, after the Turkish club knocked back their opening offer of €20 million.

Trabzonspor are standing firm, however, and are reportedly demanding close to €30 million before they agree to sell the Nigeria international.

Championship rivals circle

Fulham are not alone in their pursuit. Sky Bet Championship side West Ham United have also been linked with a move for Nwaiwu, adding competition for the 22-year-old's signature.

A rapid rise for the former Enyimba star

Nwaiwu only joined Trabzonspor in January, arriving from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC. Despite the short timeframe, he made an immediate impression — scoring three goals and contributing one assist across 16 league appearances for the Black Sea Storm.

He rounded off a strong debut season by helping Trabzonspor lift the Turkish Cup, underlining his value to the club and, evidently, attracting serious interest from England.
