The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed a packed schedule of continental events for 2026 and 2027, with Ghana, Egypt, Senegal, Morocco, and South Africa all named as host nations across senior and youth competitions.

South Africa hosts the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup

Tshwane will stage the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup on Sunday, 8 November 2026, with kick-off set for 15h00 local time (13h00 GMT). The fixture pits TotalEnergies CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns against TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup holders USM Alger.

Youth competitions spread across the continent

Ghana will host the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2027 in February and March, while Morocco takes charge of the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations 2027 in April and May of the same year.

Egypt will stage the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations 2027, a tournament that doubles as the qualification competition for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games — making it one of the most consequential fixtures in the upcoming calendar.

CAF is also examining the possibility of launching a new CAF U-17 Women's Africa Cup of Nations as early as next year, subject to sporting and organisational requirements being met. The proposed competition would open another competitive pathway for young female players across Africa.

Futsal and beach soccer

Morocco will host the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations 2026 from 12–21 October, before Senegal takes over to stage the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations 2026 in November.

AFCON 2027 and club competitions

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2027 is scheduled to run from 19 June to 17 July 2027, with qualification getting under way in September 2026.

At club level, the draws for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2026/27 preliminary rounds have already been made. Both competitions open their first preliminary round between 4–6 September 2026, with return legs to follow on 11–13 September.

A more predictable African football calendar

CAF has also disclosed that discussions around a proposed African Nations League are ongoing within the CAF Executive Committee, with the format under review as part of a broader strategy to make international football more commercially attractive for Member Associations.

The confirmed host nations and fixed dates are designed to give Member Associations, broadcasters, sponsors, and supporters the forward visibility they need to plan around Africa's major football events.
