Gift Orban Closes In on Loan Move to Turkish Süper Lig Side Amedspor

2 hours ago·1 min

Nigeria forward Gift Orban is set to join newly promoted Süper Lig side Amedspor on a season-long loan from Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim, with a permanent transfer option included in the agreement.

Reports from Turkey indicate that Amedspor have struck deals with both TSG Hoffenheim and the player himself, paving the way for Orban to travel to Turkey on Saturday to sign his contract and complete his medical examination. The Turkish club will cover his full salary for the duration of the loan.

A fresh chapter after Verona

The 24-year-old spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Serie A outfit Hellas Verona, where he scored seven goals and contributed two assists across 28 league appearances. The Gialloblù, however, chose not to activate the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

Orban's move to Amedspor extends a career that has taken him through several European leagues — including spells in Norway, Belgium, and France — before his time in Germany and Italy.

Amedspor's historic Süper Lig debut

For Amedspor, securing Orban's signature is a statement of ambition as the club prepares for its first-ever season in the Turkish Süper Lig, having won promotion last term after years in Turkey's lower divisions. Known as The People's Team, Amedspor play their home fixtures at the 33,000-capacity Diyarbakır Stadium.
