Jack Grealish is keen on a return to Everton should he depart Manchester City before Tuesday's transfer deadline, according to sources who spoke to BBC Sport.

The 30-year-old has featured only as a substitute in City's first two Premier League matches of the new campaign. New manager Enzo Maresca has indicated he would be willing to allow Grealish to leave the club, with the window closing on Tuesday.

A familiar destination

Grealish enjoyed a season-long loan spell at Everton last term, contributing two goals and six assists across 20 appearances before a foot injury in January cut his campaign short. The Toffees remain in contact with the player, with Everton chief executive Angus Kinnear confirming as much to BBC Radio Merseyside.

City sources, however, maintain that no concrete offers for Grealish have arrived from any club during this summer's window.

Maresca addressed the situation directly on Thursday: "Jack is here. Until the day he is, it is my duty to try and help him to give us the best. In the next four, five days, we will see what happens. I speak with Jack almost every day."

Ndiaye in City's sights

In a potential twist to the transfer saga, Manchester City have also registered an interest in Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye, who has turned down several contract extensions at Goodison Park. The Senegal international, 26, was also a target for Saudi side Al-Hilal this summer, but he reportedly declined that move as well.

Everton, managed by David Moyes, are under no obligation to sell Ndiaye, whose current deal runs until 2029. The club are expected to demand a fee in the region of £70 million before entertaining any offers for the winger.
