Antoine Griezmann said goodbye to Atletico Madrid on Sunday, delivering an emotional pitch-side speech after his final home match for the club — and once again asking forgiveness from supporters for his controversial 2019 departure to Barcelona.
The 35-year-old Frenchman will join MLS side Orlando City at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on a decade at the Rojiblancos that was interrupted by his ill-fated spell with the Catalan giants.
Griezmann addressed a packed Metropolitano stadium following Atletico's 1-0 La Liga victory over Girona, a match in which he provided the assist for the only goal, scored by Ademola Lookman.
