England midfielder Jordan Henderson is facing a significant spell on the sidelines after sustaining a serious wrist injury during the celebrations that followed his side's dramatic 3-2 last-16 victory over Mexico at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on Monday.

Henderson appeared to land badly after tumbling from the advertising hoardings in the aftermath of the win, and was subsequently carried off the pitch on a stretcher. England manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed the severity of the injury shortly after the final whistle.
