Hull City extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League by earning a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Mohamed Belloumi scoring twice to cancel out Chelsea's early advantage.

Chelsea made the perfect start when Morgan Rogers finished a rapid counter-attack — stemming from a Hull corner — by firing past Konstantinos Tzolakis at his near post inside the opening ten minutes.

Belloumi punishes Chelsea's defensive frailty

The lead did not last long. A reckless moment from Jorrel Hato, who allowed the ball to bounce over him inside his own penalty area, gifted Belloumi the chance to level. The Hull forward took it without hesitation, restoring parity and momentarily lifting the Tigers to the top of the table.

Belloumi struck again moments later, this time from the edge of the box. His shot took a decisive deflection off Levi Colwill and sailed past Emi Martinez to put the visitors in front — a second goal that left Xabi Alonso's side stunned.

Hull came close to extending their lead further when a spilled save from Martinez fell to Oli McBurnie, but the Chelsea goalkeeper redeemed himself with a remarkable close-range stop to keep the deficit at one.

Palmer and Joao Pedro rescue a point for Chelsea

Chelsea's revival came just after the hour mark. Cole Palmer picked out Joao Pedro inside the box, and the Brazilian striker met the ball with composure, smashing it into the roof of the net to make it 2-2 in the 66th minute.

Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages. Rogers and Mohamed-Ali Cho each spurned gilt-edged opportunities, firing straight at the opposing goalkeeper when goals appeared certain. Martinez was also called upon to deny a Reece James free-kick, which struck the post in the 53rd minute.

In the end, the draw felt an honest reflection of the contest. Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic — who had joked before kick-off that stopping Chelsea's attack might require some rough-house tactics — emerged from west London with his unbeaten record intact and much to be encouraged about.
