Kelechi Iheanacho got his Bursaspor career off to the ideal start, scoring a goal and setting up another as the Turkish side claimed a 2-0 away victory over Bodrum FK on Sunday.

The Nigeria international opened the scoring before teeing up his side's second goal — a display that earned him the Man of the Match award on his debut.

Speaking to Bein Sports after the final whistle, Iheanacho made no effort to conceal his satisfaction. "I'm very happy," he said. "Early matches are tough. I'm delighted we won. I'm also thrilled to have scored a goal and provided an assist."

The forward also set his sights on a successful spell in Turkey. "I hope I can be successful here and win some trophies," he added.

Iheanacho arrived at Bursaspor on a free transfer last month, having parted ways with Scottish Premiership club Celtic.
