Djed Spence, Tottenham Hotspur's right-back and one of England's standout performers at the 2026 World Cup, has been offered to Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United, according to transfers journalist Ben Jacobs.

The 25-year-old is pushing for a move after his impressive showing on the international stage, with doubts lingering over his place in Roberto De Zerbi's plans at Spurs. Tottenham are reportedly willing to sanction his exit as De Zerbi looks to raise funds to reshape his squad in North London.

Spurs set £35 million asking price

Tottenham have placed a £35 million valuation on Spence — a significant figure given he signed a new long-term contract only 12 months ago. Despite his World Cup contributions, Spence sits behind Pedro Porro in De Zerbi's pecking order at right-back, a situation that has prompted his representatives to seek alternatives elsewhere.

Neither Liverpool nor Manchester United have submitted a formal offer at this stage. Manchester United currently have Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui competing for the right-back berth, though Spence could conceivably challenge both for a starting role.

Liverpool's right-back vacancy could appeal

Liverpool present a more obvious opening. Conor Bradley remains sidelined through injury, and Joe Gomez is also unavailable. Makeshift options Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai have filled in, but neither is considered a natural fit for the position, leaving a genuine gap in Arne Slot's squad.

Inter Milan have also registered an interest, eyeing Spence as a right wing-back option in their system. However, early-stage talks between the Serie A club and Tottenham have stalled over a gap in valuations, with the Italian side yet to match Spurs' asking price.
