Çimşir Plays Down Onuachu Injury Fears After Trabzonspor Rout

Trabzonspor interim coach Hüseyin Çimşir has moved to calm concerns about Paul Onuachu's fitness after the Nigeria striker was taken off early in Sunday's commanding 5-0 win over Gençlerbirliği in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Onuachu, who netted twice before leaving the field, was withdrawn in the 44th minute — replaced by new signing Franculino Dju — after sustaining what appeared to be a knock. He had put Trabzonspor ahead within five minutes of kick-off and then doubled their lead in the 22nd minute, a brace that left the hosts well in control before the interval.

Despite the early substitution, Çimşir was quick to dismiss fears of a lengthy absence.

"I don't think it's anything serious. There's no problem,"
the coach told NTV Spor, expressing confidence that Onuachu would be available for selection in the club's next fixture.

The 29-year-old has now scored twice in four Süper Lig appearances for the Black Sea Storm this season, making his fitness ahead of upcoming matches a priority for the club.

Trabzonspor's next league outing takes them away to Konyaspor.
