Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart has raised concerns about Alexander Isak's form at Liverpool, arguing that the striker is not being used in the areas of the pitch where he is most dangerous.

Speaking as a pundit, Hart suggested that Isak's habit of dropping deep to collect the ball is a telling sign of a player struggling with confidence — and one who is not receiving service in the spaces that suit his game best.

Rather than holding a high line and being fed in behind opposition defences, Isak has been drifting back toward midfield to get involved. Hart believes that movement reflects a striker who feels isolated and starved of quality possession in advanced positions.

The comments came after Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, a result that will add to questions about the team's attacking sharpness in front of goal.

For a forward of Isak's ability, the concern is not talent but deployment. When given the right service in dangerous areas, the striker has proven himself to be one of the most clinical finishers in the division.
