Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were both ever-present for Fulham, completing the full 90 minutes, but it was not enough to prevent a 1-0 home defeat to Sunderland in Sunday's Premier League fixture at the Stadium of Light.

The result means Fulham, under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa, have lost both of their Premier League outings this season without scoring a single goal.

A flat and goalless first half

The opening 45 minutes offered little to excite either set of supporters. Both teams squandered promising positions through poor decision-making in the final third, and neither goalkeeper was truly tested throughout.

Fulham's best moment came when Iwobi picked out Josh King, whose effort briefly suggested the Cottagers might threaten — but the chance came to nothing, and the half ended goalless.

Isidor settles it for Sunderland

The deadlock was broken in the 75th minute when substitute Wilson Isidor found the net to hand Sunderland all three points. It proved to be the only meaningful attack of the entire match.

Fulham failed to register a single shot on target across the full 90 minutes, and Sunderland's disciplined, well-organised defensive unit gave the visitors no route through. The Super Eagles pair of Iwobi and Bassey — each making their second Premier League appearance of the campaign — could not provide the spark their side so desperately needed.
