Jordan Henderson Stretchered Off After England's World Cup Celebrations in Mexico

Jordan Henderson was carried from the pitch at Estadio Azteca on a stretcher and administered oxygen after an incident during England's post-match celebrations following their World Cup round-of-16 victory over Mexico.
The Brentford midfielder had been an unused substitute in England's hard-fought 3-2 win, but he joined his teammates on the pitch to celebrate with the travelling England supporters. During those celebrations, Henderson fell over the advertising hoardings while standing in front of the England fans as they sang Wonderwall.
What Kane and Bellingham said
England captain Harry Kane addressed the situation after the final whistle, telling the BBC: "Jordan just fell over there, I think he's OK, just something to do with his arm."
Jude Bellingham was similarly cautious with details: "He's in a bit of bother, but our medical team have got everything under control. It's probably not best to give too much detail because I don't really know too much what's going on, but everyone's there to support him and even that was a beautiful thing to see."
Full details of Henderson's condition had not been confirmed at the time of reporting.
A dramatic night at Estadio Azteca
The match itself was a rollercoaster. England twice established two-goal leads, only to be pulled back by Mexico on each occasion. Their task was made significantly harder when Jarell Quansah received a straight red card just before the hour mark.
Thomas Tuchel's side held firm through a tense finale to advance to the quarter-finals. Jude Bellingham struck twice in quick succession in the first half, with Harry Kane converting a penalty shortly after Quansah's dismissal to complete the scoring.
Henderson has featured only once in this World Cup, coming off the bench for the closing six minutes of England's group stage victory over Panama — a match in which qualification had already been secured.
England face Norway next
England will take on Norway in the quarter-finals on Saturday evening. Norway reached that stage after Erling Haaland scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over Brazil.
