Liverpool Reject Inter Milan's £21.7m Bid for Curtis Jones

Liverpool have turned down a verbal offer from Inter Milan for midfielder Curtis Jones, with the Italian club's bid of 25 million euros (£21.7m) falling well short of the £35m the Reds are demanding.
Despite Jones entering the final year of his contract at Anfield, Liverpool are unwilling to let him leave on the cheap. This marks the second approach Inter have made for the 25-year-old in 2025, having also been rebuffed in January when they proposed a loan deal with an option to buy.
Inter's public pursuit
Inter's sporting director Piero Ausilio made no effort to conceal his club's interest earlier this month. "Curtis Jones — we are paying attention to him. We didn't hide. We understand what the developments will be," he said.
The pursuit became even more open when Inter winger Federico Chiesa told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport that Jones had personally asked him what life in Italy is like — a detail that underlines how seriously the player himself may be weighing up a move.
A lifelong red
Jones is a product of Liverpool's own academy, having joined the club's youth setup at the age of 9 before putting pen to paper on his first professional contract with the Reds in 2018. His development into a first-team regular makes Liverpool all the more determined to extract full value from any potential sale.
With Inter yet to match Liverpool's asking price and Jones's contract expiring next summer, negotiations between the two clubs look set to continue.
