Liverpool supporters broke into a chorus of "poetry in motion" at Selhurst Park — and for large stretches of a commanding 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace, the description was entirely deserved.

The Reds' forward line appeared to find a new level of cohesion in this performance, combining with a fluency that had occasionally been missing from their earlier outings this season. Pace, movement, and sharp interplay between the attackers gave Crystal Palace's defence no room to breathe.

The result puts Liverpool in a strong position as the season continues to build momentum. Manager Arne Slot's side were clinical in front of goal, converting the chances they created with the kind of composure that separates title contenders from the rest.

Crystal Palace, to their credit, refused to roll over — pulling a goal back to make it briefly uncomfortable — but Liverpool's quality ultimately told as they closed out the game with authority.

The performance will raise expectations at Anfield that the Reds' expensive forward additions are now beginning to repay the faith placed in them. When this attack fires as one, Liverpool look capable of outscoring virtually anyone in the Premier League.
