Madagascar Name 25-Man Squad for AFCON 2027 Qualifying Clashes Against Nigeria and Tanzania
Madagascar head coach Corentin Martins has announced a 25-man squad for two crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches — one against Nigeria's Super Eagles and another against Tanzania's Taifa Stars.
The final selection was trimmed from an initial provisional list of 55 players, with the majority of those chosen plying their trade abroad. A handful of players from the Malagasy domestic league also earned call-ups.
Fixtures and schedule
The Barea open their qualifying campaign on the road, facing the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, 25 September — a Matchday One encounter that places Madagascar immediately under pressure.
Four days after that opening assignment, Madagascar return home to host Tanzania's Taifa Stars in their second qualifying fixture of the campaign.
The squad is set to assemble in camp this weekend to begin preparations for the two matches.
