Man City Open Talks With Chelsea to Sign Enzo Fernandez

1 hour ago·1 min

Manchester City have begun formal talks with Chelsea over the potential signing of midfielder Enzo Fernandez, with the two clubs negotiating what would be one of the summer's biggest transfers.

Chelsea are demanding a minimum of £120 million for the 25-year-old Argentina international, and discussions between the parties are ongoing as both clubs work to agree on a final fee.

The move carries a clear personal dimension — Fernandez previously worked under City manager Enzo Maresca during the Italian's time in charge at Chelsea. Maresca is eager to reunite with Fernandez, and the player himself is said to be open to making the switch to City.

Should the two clubs reach an agreement on a transfer fee, any deal is expected to move quickly to completion, with personal terms between the club and the player not considered an obstacle.

While formal talks had not taken place before now, Chelsea were already aware of City's long-standing interest in Fernandez ahead of transfer deadline day.
