Manchester City have struck a deal with Palmeiras to sign winger Allan Elias, in an agreement worth up to £34.2m.

The 22-year-old Brazilian arrives as a direct replacement for Savinho, his compatriot who is on course to join Tottenham. City will pay a fixed fee of £32m, with a further £2.2m available in performance-related add-ons, and a medical is expected in the coming days.

Marmoush and the Spurs connection

City's business with Tottenham does not end there. The two clubs remain in advanced negotiations over the sale of Egypt forward Omar Marmoush to Spurs. Sources familiar with the talks say there is a "good chance" the move is completed before the 1 September transfer deadline, though some details between the parties are yet to be finalised.

Nico Gonzalez future in doubt

Elsewhere, midfielder Nico Gonzalez could also leave Etihad Stadium before the transfer window closes. The Spanish midfielder has attracted strong interest from Newcastle, adding further potential movement to what has become a busy end to the summer window for City.
