Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba, with a full club-to-club agreement now within reach.

United have already prepared a five-year contract for Baleba to sign once the transfer between the two clubs is formally concluded. Medical arrangements are expected to be booked promptly after that point.

Sky Sports News first reported United's interest in Baleba last autumn and broke the news that the club made an approach during the January transfer window. He has remained among their foremost targets throughout the summer.

Baleba is set to become United's third midfield reinforcement of the window, joining Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans as new arrivals at Old Trafford.
