Manchester United Face Favourable Start to 2026/27 Premier League Season

Manchester United will kick off their first full Premier League season under manager Michael Carrick with an away trip to Hull City on the opening weekend, August 22.
The Red Devils have been handed statistically the easiest opening run of fixtures in the top flight, with their second match bringing newly promoted Ipswich Town to Old Trafford on August 29.
Derby day and Champions League return
United's early schedule builds towards a landmark moment on Saturday, September 12, when Manchester City arrive at Old Trafford for the first Manchester derby of the campaign — the same week United make their return to the UEFA Champions League.
Carrick's side then face Everton away on September 5 before the derby, followed by a trip to Fulham on September 19.
Tough away run before the new year
United face their sternest tests on the road in the final months of 2026. They travel to Chelsea on October 31, to Liverpool on November 21, and to Arsenal on December 19 — three of the Premier League's most formidable venues in the space of seven weeks.
However, the fixtures swing in United's favour in the new year. All three sides visit Old Trafford in a 35-day window: Liverpool on January 23, Chelsea on February 6, and Arsenal on February 27.
