A first-half finish against Inter Milan brought Mbappe's Champions League tally to 71 goals from 99 appearances — matching the legendary total set by Raul, who retired in 2015.

The elite club of 50-goal scorers

Only 12 players in the history of the Champions League have reached the 50-goal mark. Mbappe arrived there as the sixth-fastest player to do so, underlining the extraordinary pace of his progression through the competition's record books.

Above him in the all-time standings, Cristiano Ronaldo leads with 140 Champions League goals, followed by Lionel Messi on 129. Neither player competes in European football any longer, meaning both totals are effectively frozen.

The Manchester City striker's record sits 13 appearances clear of any rival, and with Haaland one year younger than Mbappe and positioned just behind him in the all-time rankings, the Norwegian could yet emerge as the most formidable challenger to Ronaldo's seemingly untouchable record.
