Nigeria Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi made his debut for Hamburg in a 2-0 Bundesliga defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, coming off the bench in the second half but unable to make an impact against a resolute home defence.

Moffi, who joined Hamburg from French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice, was handed the No. 9 shirt at his new club. He entered the fray in the 67th minute, replacing Patson Daka, but found no way past Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

Guirassy fires Dortmund ahead

Borussia Dortmund wasted little time asserting themselves at home, with Serhou Guirassy breaking the deadlock in the 9th minute to the delight of the Signal Iduna Park crowd.

Konstantelias then doubled the advantage in first-half stoppage time, effectively ending the contest before the break. That two-goal cushion proved more than enough for Dortmund to claim all three points.

Moffi's career in numbers

The 26-year-old forward brings considerable pedigree to Hamburg, having previously represented clubs across six different countries. Over 228 competitive appearances throughout his career, Moffi has accumulated 88 goals and 13 assists — a record that underlines his proven ability at the highest levels of European football.
