Newcastle United Sign Goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek in £25.7m Deal from Braga

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Czech Republic international goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek from Braga for £25.7m, with the 24-year-old committing to a five-year contract at St James' Park.

The club triggered Hornicek's release clause with the Portuguese side to secure the deal, and he is set to serve as Newcastle's first-choice goalkeeper from the outset of the new season.

Hornicek becomes Newcastle's fifth summer arrival, following earlier acquisitions of Ewen Jaouen, Bazoumana Toure, Sean Steur, and Aladji Bamba. His arrival is part of a busy summer of recruitment at the club despite the high-profile departures of Sandro Tonali to Tottenham for £100m and Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for £69.3m.
