Niger Tornadoes Appoint Kabiru Dogo as Technical Adviser Ahead of 2026/27 NPFL Season

Niger Tornadoes have handed experienced coach Kabiru Dogo a three-year contract as their new technical adviser, with the Minna-based club targeting a stronger campaign in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Dogo was officially unveiled on Wednesday at the club's secretariat in Minna. The ceremony brought together the club's newly appointed chairman, Dr. Abubakar Kuso, and the Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Youth and Sports, who formally introduced the coach to supporters, stakeholders, and members of the media.
A seasoned hand in Nigerian football
Dogo arrives at Niger Tornadoes with an extensive résumé in Nigerian top-flight football, having previously managed El-Kanemi Warriors, Nasarawa United, Kwara United, ABS FC, and Sunshine Stars.
His most recent tenure at El-Kanemi Warriors was a season of contrasts — he guided the Maiduguri club to the final of the 2026 President Federation Cup, yet could not prevent their relegation from the NPFL following a difficult league campaign.
Tornadoes bank on Dogo for stability
Niger Tornadoes narrowly avoided the drop last season, and the club's hierarchy has now moved to reinforce its technical structure with an appointment widely seen as a statement of intent. Dogo is well regarded in Nigerian football circles for his tactical discipline and his ability to mould competitive squads.
The Ikon Allah Boys have tasked their new technical adviser with steering the club toward a successful league campaign while building the foundations for a longer-term challenge at the top of the NPFL standings.
His appointment signals a clear ambition from Niger Tornadoes to establish themselves as one of the league's leading clubs in the seasons ahead.
