Nigerian Winger Friday Adams Joins Universitatea Cluj From FC Botoșani

Romanian Superliga club Universitatea Cluj have completed the signing of Nigerian winger Friday Adams, adding an experienced presence to their squad.
Adams, 23, arrives from fellow Romanian side FC Botoșani, where he spent three seasons and accumulated more than 80 appearances across all competitions. Known for his energy, tactical awareness, and versatility, he is capable of playing as a right-back or in midfield.
A career built across three continents
Adams began his footballing journey at the Ikon Allah Kaduna academy in Nigeria before attracting attention from FDC Vista's youth setup in Russia.
His first major breakthrough came at Armenian club FC Noah, where he made 35 appearances, scored two goals, and contributed one assist. At FC Noah, he showed his value in both defensive organisation and transitional play.
He then moved to FC Botoșani in 2023, adapting swiftly to the demands of the Romanian top flight. Over his spell at the club, he proved effective from wide areas at both ends of the pitch, building a reputation as a reliable and energetic wide operator.
With his move to Universitatea Cluj now confirmed, Adams will look to take the next step in a career that has taken him from Kaduna to the heart of Romanian football.
