Norwich City are among several clubs monitoring Nigerian winger Daniel Job, currently of Kongsvinger IL, with a transfer move understood to be under serious consideration, according to a report citing journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Canaries have been active in the transfer market this window under manager Philippe Clement, who has been reshaping the squad since taking charge. With attacker Ali Ahmed sidelined by a pre-season injury, Norwich are prioritising reinforcements on the wing.

A competitive field of suitors

Norwich are not alone in their pursuit. Serie A club Lecce had a bid of €3 million turned down by Kongsvinger, who value the 20-year-old at €4 million plus add-ons. RB Salzburg, FC Basel, and AIK are also in the running, making this one of the more competitive transfer situations of the window.

A rapid rise from Nigeria to Norway

Job came through the Future Pro youth setup in Nigeria before arriving in Norwegian football on loan at Sarpsborg 08 in March 2024. He initially turned out for Sarpsborg 08 2 in the Norwegian Third Division, where he scored eight goals in 13 appearances — a return that convinced the club to exercise their purchase option.

Sarpsborg signed him permanently in July 2024 on a deal running to the end of 2028. He made his Eliteserien debut on 20 July 2024 and scored his first top-flight goal on his first start, coming against Haugesund in August of that year.

In search of regular football, Job joined Egersund on loan for the first half of the 2025 season, making 12 league appearances and scoring three goals while also featuring in cup competition. He then moved to Kongsvinger IL in February 2026 as part of a deal involving Sarpsborg.

Standing out at Kongsvinger

Job has made himself central to Kongsvinger's 2026 OBOS-ligaen campaign, delivering an impressive return of goals and assists from a starting position. His form earned him the club's player of the month award for June/July 2026, as voted by supporters.

In a gesture that won him further admiration, Job donated his prize money to a children's cancer charity — a moment that has only strengthened the bond between the player and the Kongsvinger faithful, and drawn wider attention to a talent clearly ready for a bigger stage.
